One of our objectives for 2019 is to turn our attention “homewards”. 35% less likely is not good enough, and we want to partner with Christ to increase that percentage. We want our homes to be godly, lovely and happy.
Our 1st ever “Spice It Up” couples retreat is coming up on Saturday, February 9. We will be at the Marriott Hotel for most of the day to start the conversation on the proper meaning of love and respect in the home. We will hear teachings, break out into small groups, rub our minds together, and generally set the tone for making our homes and marriages “heaven on earth”! Tim Brisibe was one of the Keynote Speakers at the recently concluded RCCG Men of Valor conference in Edmonton, and will be anchoring the session together with his wife, Markeza.
According to Focus on the Family, “Being a committed, faithful believer makes a measurable difference in marriage.” From that report, we see that Christians “who regularly attend church are 35 percent less likely to divorce compared to those who have no affiliation. Nominally attending Christians are 20 percent more likely to divorce, compared to secular Americans”. In another study, Feldhahn, a Harvard-trained social researcher, found that 72 percent of all married people were still married to their first spouse. And of those marriages, four out of five are happy. Hello! Scientists have proven that going to church matters!
